IGO (pronounced eego) is the authentic Japanese name for this wonderful game of strategy.
IGO is an ancient oriental game of strategy, the rules for playing go are few and simple. You will easily learn them in a single sitting. Mastering the strategy of go will become an exciting, unending challenge.
The IGO program is ideal for the beginning go player. IGO becomes your tutor/mentor/opponent. He is always patient, never criticizing. Also, he will explain his moves to you and/or suggest moves for you to try.
IGO will play against you at 4 levels of increasing challenge. When you can beat him at a lower level, try the next rung up the ladder. When you ready to move on you can use The Many Faces of GO from David Fotland. It plays at higher strength levels, on a full 19x19 board.
IGO may be distributed freely. Click here to download IGO for free. Please give copies to anyone with a computer who wants to learn to play go.
